PASSION PROJECT
2011~Present | The Abandon Shoes Project
Role: Creator, Finder, Photographer, Writer, 360 Content & UX Designer
As an adult without a driver’s license, I walk. A lot. Along my path, I began finding abandoned shoes. Yes, shoes without people. So in 2011, with my new iPhone’s camera, I started photographing them. By 2015, I had amassed hundreds of shots of lost soles that had found their own through me. As a firm believer that every subject has a story, I began writing little stories for each of them and posting them on Instagram. Not satisfied with just giving my ever-growing collection some love on a social feed, I decided to create a more permanent home for them, and abandonshoes.com was born. To date, it remains my passion project—with seemingly endless legs. People sending me shots of abandoned shoes and asking me to caption them is definitely this writer’s dream;)
